Georgia design duo wins big at Decorating Den’s 2025 award ceremony
Barbara Elliott and Jennifer Ward-Woods took home five awards, including Designer of the Year for a richly layered primary bedroom design and First Runner-Up for the accompanying bathroom. The Georgia team also won the People’s Choice Award and Donayre Award, making them both a professional and public favorite.
Decorating Den presented its annual Designer of the Year award and other design awards via a virtual ceremony last week, and The Sisters and Company in Georgia won big, receiving five awards.
Barbara Elliott and Jennifer Ward-Woods, owners of The Sisters and Company, which serves Stone Mountain, Ga. and greater Atlanta, were named Designers of the Year, judged best in category and the overall best of 173 entries in 12 categories. The judging was done by interior design journalists across the U.S. and Canada, including Designers Today.
Designers of the Year
Elliott and Ward-Woods received the award for a bedroom design. The client wanted “a luxurious, cohesive master suite,” and the duo achieved that by expanding the bedroom and bringing in elegant design elements, such as an ivory-upholstered bed, mahogany chests, gold-framed mirrors, oak paneling, a fireplace wall and boucle seating, in addition to grass cloth wallpaper and motorized drapery.
This is the third time the duo has won the Designers of the Year award. “It’s still as exciting as it was the first time,” they said. Elliott and Ward-Woods also received the Designer of the Year First Runner-Up for their ensuite bathroom, which adjoins the winning bedroom. The bathroom renovation included heated floors, a sleek glass bathtub, floating vanities with infinity sinks, LED mirrors and a spa-like shower.
