Project Overview:

Our client wanted to maximize the seating in her kitchen, and since the kitchen is open to the living room, the flow of the design had to be consistent. As the view of the lake is paramount, we wanted to maintain the view but still provide functionality. For the color palette, we chose shades of blue and white to soften the stark white and gray cabinets. A simple wood accent to the bottom of the white wood hood added warmth along with the white oak wood floors.

For the dining area, our designers chose to frame the black metal windows with the same panels from the living room, which keeps the flow between the rooms and the view. We chose a long but narrow table to fit the space and allow seating for 8. Simple slat back chairs were paired with tall hostess dining chairs for visual interest.

A custom sisal rug adds a pop of blue and keeps a casual flow. We selected counter stools with a modern rope back design in a platinum color. The natural gray mahogany finish on the frame flows with the flooring. With the addition of the counter stools, our clients have seating for 12. Wood floating shelves were placed above the cabinets on the side wall of the kitchen. We added simple white and black dishes along with blue accessories to complete the look.
