Looking for the Right Sectional

Project Overview:

To start the design process we chose a neutral palette keeping the walls that were already gray since it worked right into the neutral hues we wanted to use. To this we added  cream and accented with gold.

One of the first things we did was to strip the floors and stain the floors and beams to make the space fee airier and lighter. We also removed the bookcases on each side of the fireplace and replaced them with floating shelves for a more updated contemporary feel. We also removed the stone from the fireplace and replaced that with a beautiful, polished porcelain tile with grays, whites and gold that mimics marble.

We designed a custom sectional with squared corners, upholstered in a neutral crème fabric. The back and arms have a vertical stitch that shows off the detailing. We selected pillows that are soft, patterned and neutral to fit right onto this beautiful tight-back sectional. The accent chairs are softly curved swivel chair that introduce a free-flowing, organic style to seating areas. A quilted ginkgo leaf pattern fanning out along the back creates repetition and subtle movement, accented by a cream-colored contrast welt and plinth base wrapped in pearl vinyl. The area rug has a unique abstract pattern with lines of gray, creams, brown and gold tones.

The metallic window treatments and accessories help to heighten the contemporary look by elevating the neutral hues with the accents of gold and silver. The window treatments extended all the way up to the trim to draw the eye up into the already high ceiling space in the room. The abstract artwork helps to connect the colors and complete the look in the space.
