Meet Barbara & Jennifer

Barbara and Jennifer are an exciting sister duo from Stone Mountain, Georgia and known for their luxurious, award-winning designs.

Barbara Elliott

Barbara Elliott is an interior designer who understands hard work. The granddaughter of one of the few Black men to own his own business and more than 1000 acres of land at the turn of the 20th century. One of ten siblings, Barbara grew up on a farm in North Carolina.  She inherited her passion for design from her mother, who loved to decorate and sew. Barbara went to college to study fashion design, but switched to accounting, earning a B.S. in Business. After a career working as an international auditor for the IRS and a CPA for state and federal agencies, in 1997 she decided to follow her heart, and acquired a franchise with Decorating Den in 1997. Joined by her sister Jennifer shortly afterwards, her interior design business in Stone Mountain Village immediately began to thrive.

The unique combination of creative talent and business expertise has resulted in Barbara’s great success. She loves working with a blank canvas, pulling colors and fabrics together to create distinctive interiors tailored to each of her clients, while her mind for numbers keeps her projects affordable and on budget. Equal parts creative talent and problem solver, Barbara is known for her ability to design luxury interiors for her clients with attention to detail, uncompromised ethics, warmth and abundant creativity.

Jennifer Ward-Woods

Along with her sister Barbara and eight other siblings, Jennifer grew up on a farm in North Carolina. Taking after her mother who loved to sew and decorate, she has always had a talent for interior design. After a career in the insurance and investment industry, Jennifer finally began to pursue her dreams when she became an interior designer with Decorating Den Interiors in North Carolina more than three decades ago. In fact, she was the inspiration for her sister to purchase her own franchise in Atlanta.

Jennifer was thrilled at the opportunity to join Barbara in Atlanta a short time later. Living on the same street just a few houses apart, they raised their children as part of an extended family.  The two sisters enjoy everything they do together, from vacation and travel to running their thriving interior design business. They particularly relish the “big reveal,” when their happy clients cross the threshold of their newly-designed homes to enjoy the rest of their lives in their customized and inspired environment.
