Project Overview:

Our challenge was to provide a functional family room for a busy family and to darken the large span of windows while watching tv.

A custom sectional was designed to allow the entire family to enjoy congregating together in a color palette of marine blue and emerald green. The sectional is covered in a performance fabric for durability. A large storage ottoman also provides extra seating and a swivel chair covered in a textured fabric in various shades of green completes the seating area.  The area rug and the large-scale artwork selected pull all the colors together.

A pair of end tables with brass accents are topped with black marble and gold lamps and a console table anchors the large sectional. The ceiling fan was replaced with a large metal orb light fixture in a black finish to scale with the tall ceilings.

To provide light control, traversing draperies were mounted at 17 feet to close off the arch windows and French doors. Due to the placement of the doors, the drapes draw from each side and the middle. We selected a geometrical taupe fabric with blackout lining to eliminate the light from filtering into the room. Motorized tracks allow for easy opening and closing of the drapes.
