Project Overview:

Barbara Elliott and Jennifer Ward-Woods created a space that supports a full, dynamic life while honoring the client’s Creole roots. Function came first, with generous built-in storage, a substantial desk, and comfortable seating that allows the room to transition seamlessly between writing, studying, and quiet reflection.

To bring depth and personality, the designers layered in rich, saturated greens inspired by Southern landscapes and historic interiors. Custom cabinetry with soft arched detailing adds architectural interest, while patterned wallpaper introduces movement and storytelling. Warm wood tones and brass accents ground the design, giving it a timeless, collected feel.

Soft textiles, curated artwork, and sculptural lighting complete the space, balancing structure with warmth and grace. The result is a refined, meaningful retreat—both highly functional and deeply personal—where creativity and heritage come together beautifully.
