Project Overview:

Our client wanted to update the dated brown cabinets and create a new shape for the island with a modern and clean look.

First, we determined the layout of the kitchen. The wall between the kitchen and the previous living room was removed to create a modern, clean look. The new island was changed to a straight linear design. The double oven was moved near the doorway to achieve more counter space. Our clients dreamed of white cabinets; however, we were able to incorporate a navy blue island. We chose Shaker-style cabinets and a white quartz countertop with a hint of marbling.

For the backsplash, we chose a marble tile with stainless steel accents in a harlequined design. Acrylic pull with chrome ends was selected for the hardware.
Polished nickel mini pendants with round opal glossy glass hang over the island and the peninsula. Counter stools with winged edges covered in shadow gray velvet were selected for the seating.

A glass-top table with a steel base in a polished stainless-steel finish for the breakfast area. Contemporary dining chairs in blue velvet are provided. A modern cascading waterfall of faceted crystal strands suspended from a polished chrome metal frame creates a dramatic statement over the table.
