City Bedroom

Our designers were challenged with this bedroom which was a smaller space with awkward ceiling lines. The homeowner was renting this condo, so we couldn’t make structural changes.

Project Overview:

To create drama, we added a dark textured wallpaper to the back wall. This modern wallpaper can be removed when it’s time for the homeowner to leave. We also added a funky glass chandelier to the space replacing an existing ceiling light which can easily be switched back.

An upholstered channel headboard was chosen for the bed with matching side and footboards. On each side of the bed, we chose an open front nightstand with a slate top and metal legs to give a masculine feel. Two tall lamps in bronze sit on each of the nightstands. A modern ottoman was chosen to sit at the end of the bed, giving our client a place to relax and sit. It is covered in a red velvet fabric and accented with black metal legs, adding a great punch of color.

For the bedding, we chose a mixture of textures. The comforter has a geometric pattern of gold, gray and cream. It is paired with a satin coverlet that reverses from cream to gray. A single accent pillow in red velvet adds a pop of color to the bed. To address the windows, we chose to use the same fabric as the comforter to help make the space appear larger. The panels are hung on a black traversing rod. The drapes can be close for privacy and they have blackout lining to control the light.

On the balcony is a pair of comfortable chairs with a stool, allowing the client to enjoy the view.
