Custom Loft Library

Our client wanted to upgrade the small loft area in her home into a cozy spot to read, relax, and unwind. She desired somewhere to house her library of books with a sliding ladder to reach them all.

Location: Atlanta, GA

Project Overview:

We started by selecting a chair and a half in a cilantro velvet fabric for her to curl up in to read and relax. Two large ottomans in black lacquer were chosen to double up as additional seating and a place to prop her feet. A custom built-in bookcase was added to showcase her collection of books along with a brass sliding ladder.

Linen window treatments with decorative tape frame the windows. Black noir hardware placed at the ceiling allowed for a grand look.

A large-scale dot and linear tribal-designed rug was chosen to anchor the room. While the Grand Lotus satin black and gold finish chandelier hangs majestically in the ceiling, an array of picture lights was installed at the top of the bookcase columns to highlight the books and provide mood lighting. To complete the look, accessories and decorative pillows in fuchsia, animal print and linear lined faces were added to the chair-and-a-half for a pop of whimsical color.
