Making a Home

Project Overview:

Our client wanted to transform the family room in the recently purchased home into a welcoming space for her family and friends. They also wanted to brighten the area; even with the ample windows, it was dark!

The first task was to address the darkness of the room. We updated the light fixture with a polished nickel sphere chandelier with crystal drops at the windows, and the shutters were removed and replaced with motorized soft shades that allow more light to flood the space.

Since our client wanted ample seating, we designed a large sectional to anchor the room. A pair of swivel chairs provide additional seating and functions to interact with everyone in the space. An ottoman flanks the fireplace and offers extra seating. The family loves to play board games, so two large rectangular tables were paired together to provide a space to have fun but still look great.

We took clues from the stacked stone fireplace and chose a color palette of cream, blue, and paprika. Side tables and accessories complete the look.
