Project Overview:

We created an open concept with a modern look by removing the wall between the kitchen and family room. The new island replaced the old peninsular allowing freedom of movement and the double oven was relocated to make space for the new breakfast area.

Our client loves black cabinets and to keep an open look we decided on a two-tone color scheme with black cabinetry below and contrasting white cabinetry above. We selected a modern style Shaker cabinet and a white quartz countertop with heavy gold marbling. For the backsplash we continued the quartz with heavy gold marbling up the wall and acrylic pulls with gold end caps were installed throughout. Oversized pendant lights with black leather and antique brass finishes hangs over the natural Calcutta waterfall island. Counter stools in a rattan finish covered in  green velvet were selected for bar seating.

For the breakfast area, a natural wood table with a live edge team up with dining chairs to match the counter stools. The green fabric was also used on the custom-built  channel-back banquette which adds color in the breakfast nook. A modern natural grass-cloth pendant brings an elevated statement over the table.

Finally, a modern fireplace with a gorgeous ceramic tile was added to the space for ambience and warmth, flanked on each side by a bar area with beverage center and shelves to display accessories and family portraits.
