Waterfall Islands

What is better than a waterfall island … two waterfall islands. Bold green and navy updated this out-of-date kitchen. New quartz counter tops and an antique mirror backsplash creates the Wow! Gold light fixtures added with the new gold hardware help to modernize this kitchen. Curved counter stools in a soft gray velvet hug the new counters. A custom banquette provide the necessary seating required.

Project Overview:

Our challenge was to update our client’s kitchen without changing the layout. The client wished to keep the stained wood cabinets, but was open to changes that would make it feel more modern and updated.

First we removed a row of cabinets attached to the ceiling above the island which opened up the area immediately then painted the islands in a rich green color. The existing granite counter tops were replaced with a modern quartz and both islands were treated with waterfall ends. We added a backsplash of antique mirror laid in a stacked pattern.

New light fixtures in brass finishes updated the look. Bar stools in a gray velvet cozy up to the new counters which has been cut down to counter height. For the keeping area, a custom banquet was fabricated from navy velvet and accented with a green border and was paired with a wood top table with gold legs. New hardware on the cabinets completes the transformation.
