A Dream Come True

Our client was a recent cancer survivor, and her husband wanted to make her dream come true and get her home professionally designed. The challenges were brightening the space, adding color and more seating, and making this traditional home look more contemporary. Taking it from a once-dated look to a more updated inviting space that feels like home.

Project Overview:

To begin, we chose colors my client wanted to incorporate: blues, creams, gold, and gray. The walls were lightened using light gray paint to open up and update the space. A grey lux sofa and loveseat featured nail head trim and curved arms. Rooted in tradition but updated for today, these classic wing chair s are described in a blue velvet fabric that showcases their silhouette. Sleek, slender-legged end tables dressed the space with wooden tops and gold metal legs.

Striking antique brass lamps with an astonishing star made of crystal spikes accented the end tables to add another element to the space; antique brass and bronze cocktail tables that fit into one another added the right amount of lux in this living room. The halo chandelier that twinkled and sparkled brightened the room with its stunning shape and appearance.

The window treatments in a patterned print were placed right below the window arch to draw the eyes up as you enter the living room, providing drama. The accessories, black art, and abstract art added color to finish the space to make it inviting and comfortable.
